W. F. Gerecke – Miami’s aviation photographer of the 1930s

W. F. Gerecke was a prolific photographer based in Miami, renowned for his work during the golden age of aviation. His most notable contributions came in the 1930s, when he documented the operations and atmosphere of Pan American Airways’ marine base on Dinner Key. Gerecke’s photographs captured the spirit and innovation of early commercial air travel, preserving a rich visual legacy of Miami’s pivotal role in aviation history.
